Our preschool program for 3-year-olds is offered as either a part-time or full-time program. Children develop friendships with peers and trusting relationships with adults as they focus on problem solving and conflict resolution skills while learning to acclimate into a broader social community outside their home.
Part-time Program
Our part-time program for 3-year-olds is offered Monday through Friday for three hours a day, either in a morning or an afternoon session. Located in Peppers Yard, children have easy access to the art studio, and patio, giving them many opportunities to participate in experiential learning.
Through play, they develop socialization skills by interacting with their classmates while learning peaceful methods of conflict resolution. Young children grow and thrive in our preschool program as they explore sand and water, discover the world of books and dramatic play, participate in music and movement activities, and create with blocks, manipulatives, and art materials. All of these experiences are designed to nurture curious learners and promote life-long feelings of competence.
Scheduling:
Two different sessions are available Monday through Thursday:
Session 1: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Session 2: 1:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Full-time Program
Located in La Tierra Yard, our full-time, year-round program for 3-year-olds is a safe and comfortable environment where children develop social and emotional competence. The 4-year-old, full-time children are also included in this space, which includes several classrooms and a large, sunny “cook-in” kitchen. Activities include block building, dramatic play, art, music, storytelling, and active outdoor play.
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills are developed and refined as children participate in a broader community outside their home. Social development is a central focus of our program— children learn how to be a friend, to express empathy and compassion, and to interact comfortably with people different from themselves.
Scheduling:
Monday through Friday (12 months a year)
Parents may drop their children off as early as 7:00 a.m. and pick them up anytime before 6:00 p.m.
